\nEurope have been collaborating to create a unique experience of the
\ncity by exploring the topic of renewal. Through both conversations and
\nexperiences of the cityscape of Bilbao, the participants will consider
\nthe question:
\nWhat role does renewal play to address the challenges in our communities, organizations and businesses today?<\/em> <\/p>\n
\nindividuals new to the WORLD CAF\u00c9. It explores cutting\u2013edge approaches
\nto design, hosting and harvesting of a WORLD CAF\u00c9 conversation.<\/p>\n
\nEnjoy the cultural milieu of Bilbao<\/strong><\/em>
\nThe Gathering begins with a social evening in a local cultural
\ninstitution in Bilbao on Wednesday, June 4th. During this evening of
\nBasque pintxos and wine, participants will be able meet people from all
\nover Spain, Europe and the world in an informal atmosphere. <\/p>\n
\nExperience the city of Bilbao through conversations that matter to them<\/strong><\/em>
\nThe Gathering continues on Thursday, June 5th with an exploration of
\nthe city through a series of 12 local WORLD CAF\u00c9S, hosted by
\nrepresentatives from all sectors of Basque society: education,
\nbusiness, health, media, economic development, municipal government and
\nthe arts. These conversations will be held all over the city in
\nlocations unique to this Basque city. Participants will be able to
\nexperience as many as two conversations, one in the morning and another
\nin the afternoon. Conversations will be held bi-lingually or in
\nSpanish.<\/p>\n
\nthe Sociedad Bilbaina, a cultural institution established in Bilbao in
\nthe early 19th century. Our Bilbao partners from all the the local
\nWORLD CAF\u00c9S will be joined by the Gathering\u2019s participants to celebrate
\nthe power of conversations in communities.<\/p>\n
\nSee the renewal of Bilbao with new eyes<\/em><\/strong>
\nThe large scale WORLD CAF\u00c9 conversation on the topic of renewal will
\ntake place in the Palacio Euskalduna on Friday, June 6th and Saturday,
\nJune 7th. Its award-winning design pays homage the ship building
\nindustry which stood there before the renewal process of the city began
\n10 years ago.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
\nparticipants with new insights about the renewal process. It will
\nprovide them with concrete ideas and knowledge to lead the renewal
\nprocess in their own communities, organizations and businesses.<\/p>\n
\nof the participants coming from all over the Spanish-speaking world by
\nhosting the WORLD CAF\u00c9 conversations bi-lingually. This design of our
\nconversation in English as well as Spanish will foster a cross –
\npollination of both culture and language.<\/p>\n
\nof the greater metropolitan Bilbao area en route to a traditional
\ntavern (Sidrer\u00eda) in the Basque countryside. Partipants will enjoy the
\nsounds of traditional music as they enjoy dining together. <\/p>\n
\nExpand your understanding of the World Caf\u00e9 principles through conversations<\/strong><\/em>
\nThe Gathering concludes on Saturday afternoon with a series of \u201cCoffee
\nShop Conversations\u201d. These conversations will explore issues of
\nimportance to the on-going development of the WORLD CAF\u00c9 together with
\nexperienced WORLD CAF\u00c9 hosts. People new to the WORLD CAF\u00c9 will be
\nable to get an in-depth introduction to its seven core principles. The
\nCoffee Shop conversations will also provide experienced WORLD CAF\u00c9
\nhosts with a unique platform to exchange and develop new ideas about
\nthe WORLD CAF\u00c9 with one another.<\/p>\n

\nAn early bird price (plus VAT) is being offered until March 15th <\/em><\/strong>
\nWorld Caf\u00e9 Europe is offering an early bird rate (For-Profit \u20ac 395 ,
\nNon-Profit \u20ac 295, Student \u20ac 150) to encourage a wide range of
