{"id":515,"date":"2011-07-25T11:26:28","date_gmt":"2011-07-25T15:26:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.theworldcafe.com\/we-are-not-ants-"},"modified":"2015-08-16T01:40:26","modified_gmt":"2015-08-16T01:40:26","slug":"we-are-not-ants","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/theworldcafe.com\/we-are-not-ants\/","title":{"rendered":"We Are Not Ants"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/wearenotants.org\/spread\/medium\/624\" alt=\"\" width=\"125\" height=\"145\" align=\"left\" hspace=\"10\" \/> We&#8217;re pleased to note that the World Caf\u00e9 has been mentioned in the 2011 Spanish language edition of <a title=\"we are not ants\" href=\"http:\/\/wearenotants.org\" target=\"_blank\"><em>We Are Not Ants<\/em><\/a> (<em>No Somos Hormigas<\/em>), a collaboration by <a title=\"authors\" href=\"http:\/\/wearenotants.org\/about-the-authors\/\" target=\"_blank\">four young people from Spain<\/a> who took Mahatma Ghandi&#8217;s challenge to &#8220;be the change you want to see&#8221; seriously.<\/p>\n<p><em>We Are Not Ants<\/em> champions positive change in a number of ways &#8211; first and perhaps most powerfully it is written from the standpoint of Appreciative Inquiry, and focuses primarily on what is working. They wanted to write a book &#8220;against the current zeitgeist of pessimism and world-weariness&#8221;, calling it a &#8220;guide-book for the well-informed optimist on the state of humanity&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>The book has <a title=\"three chapters\" href=\"http:\/\/wearenotants.org\/check-out-the-book\/\" target=\"_blank\">three chapters<\/a> &#8211; &#8220;Things That Work&#8221;, &#8220;Things That Go Wrong and Need To Be Fixed&#8221;, and &#8220;Initiatives Dedicated to Positive Change&#8221;.
